Insights from the AlixPartners Foodservice Growth Event 2025
Last week, our Managing Director, Paul Wright, attended the 13th annual AlixPartners Foodservice Growth Event, held at the QEII Centre in London and organised in partnership with EP Business in Hospitality. The event brought together senior leaders from across the foodservice sector to explore the trends, challenges, and opportunities shaping the industry’s next phase of growth.
This year’s agenda painted a clear picture of a sector that remains resilient, adaptable, and optimistic despite ongoing economic pressures. Discussions throughout the day centred around quality, ESG, technology, and efficiency – areas that continue to define competitive advantage and long-term success across the industry.
Here are Paul’s main takeaways:
Resilience and quality at the forefront
The strength and resilience demonstrated by the foodservice market over the past year was a key topic. Operators and suppliers alike are not just surviving but evolving – with a sharper focus on delivering quality experiences and products, underpinned by innovation and operational excellence.
ESG, technology and efficiencies driving progress
Sustainability and responsible business practices remain high on the agenda. From reducing carbon footprints to improving supply chain transparency, ESG continues to influence strategic decision-making at every level. Meanwhile, technology is increasingly seen as a vital enabler, helping businesses enhance customer experience, improve efficiency, and make more data-driven decisions.
M&A momentum returning
Another notable talking point was the sense that mergers and acquisitions are firmly back on the agenda. As confidence builds and capital returns to the market, many see 2026 as a year where consolidation and strategic partnerships will play a significant role in shaping the sector’s future landscape.
Commenting on the event, Paul Wright said: “It’s always inspiring to hear from leaders who are navigating the same challenges and opportunities that many of our clients are also facing. We heard strong presentations from Levy, Aramark, and Chris Mitchell of Genuine Dining, as well as a panel discussion too. The consistent message was one of confidence – that through quality, innovation, and a focus on efficiency, the foodservice sector is not only resilient but well-positioned for growth.”
